How to Clean Acrylic Jetted Bathtubs
There’s no better way to relax after a long day at work than in an acrylic whirlpool tub, but when you are finished there comes the task of having to clean it. Before you begin, you will have to assemble the tools and products that you will be using. Luckily, this only includes a soft cloth or sponge, some bleach, and a light cleaning detergent. One of the most important things to keep in mind during this process is that acrylic jetted bathtubs may be damaged by an aggressive cleaning agent. Any product that contains acetates will be too harsh.
Now, in order to clean acrylic jetted bathtubs effectively, you are going to have to fill them up with water at least enough so that the jets are completely covered. Next, add your cleaning agent, to the water. Regular dish washing liquid is usually fine, but you can use a professional grade whirlpool cleaning agent if you wish. If you want to make sure you choose something that will not harm your tub’s finish, you may want to contact the manufacturer and see if there are any products that they recommend. Swirl the water around so that it gets mixed in well.
The next step is to simply turn on the water jets in your acrylic whirlpool tub and let them run for about ten minutes or so. Then all you have to do is drain the water out and let it dry out naturally. As you can see, cleaning out acrylic jetted bathtubs is easier than you have thought. Another method that you may prefer however is to use bleach.
Using bleach to clean acrylic jetted bathtubs is very similar to using a cleaning agent such as dish washing liquid, but there are a few things you will have to do differently. First, fill the tub with water up over the jets as you would in the usual method. You will want to make sure that you have not filled it too high however as the bleach could splash out and ruin your carpet or anything else you may have in the bathroom such as towels or clothing.
Now, add about a cup of bleach to the water and switch on all the jets in your acrylic whirlpool tub and let them run for about ten minutes. Then, just as last time, allow the water to run out and let it dry on its own. However, this time you will also have to rinse out the tub with fresh water and make sure there is no bleach remaining. Then fill the tub up with water to the jets again and turn them on. This way any remaining bleach that may be in the jets can be removed. This prevents the risk of your accidentally bathing in bleach water later on.
