Why Choose a Double Ended Clawfoot Tub

Even though there are a number of different options that are available for you whenever it comes to choosing a bathtub, the Clawfoot bathtub is one that is often looked at the closest. After all, simply adding a Clawfoot bathtub your home can add a distinctive flair and vintage look that is unavailable in many of the more modern tub and shower enclosures that are commonly used. If you would like to add additional flair, you can opt for one of the Double Ended Clawfoot tub fixtures that are available.

There are five types of Clawfoot bathtubs that are commonly recognized. The classic is rounded on one end, where the slipper clawfoot tub is rounded on one end and raised as well. The Double Slipper is raised and rounded on both ends, with the water typically flowing in from over the side of the tub. The Double Ended tub is a variation on the classic, with both ends being rounded. The Pedestal Clawfoot does not have the individual feet, but seats into a pedestal instead.

Although you certainly have a lot of options that are available to you, a Double Ended Clawfoot tub can offer you additional versatility, along with some elegance that is not available in the other types. There are actually two different types of double ended tubs that are available, the classic and the raised variety, known as the double slipper. Either of these can give you the opportunity to relax and enjoy your soak in the tub from either direction, or even to share the experience with somebody that you care about.

There are some limitations to installing one of these Double Ended Clawfoot tub fixtures. For example, if your plumbing is fixed on one end of the tub area, you're going to have to run it around to the side of the tub, as you would not want to limit yourself by installing the fixture on one end or the other. This can either be done over the side of the tub, or, in some cases, by installing the fixtures directly through the side of the tub. If there is also a shower included, there are some Clawfoot tub enclosures that are available as well.

Whenever most people think about a Double Ended Clawfoot tub, they may envision the more classic variety, with the top of the tub at all the same level. There are a number of different reasons why you might want to consider getting the Double Slipper instead. The additional height of each end of the tub will give you the ability to relax your neck, and the addition of a bath pillow will make this much more comfortable. Although this is also possible in the more classic Double Ended Clawfoot tub, it is not as convenient.

The addition of one of these Kohler clawfoot bathtubs in your home will give you comfort and the ability to get away from it all while soaking in the tub. Once you have gotten used to enjoying one of these tubs for yourself, it will be difficult to imagine ever going back to a more standard fixture.
